Union Disaster Management Committee Training Module

Introduction

Bangladesh is a disaster-prone country, vulnerable to a wide range of natural hazards, including floods, cyclones, river erosion, droughts, earthquakes, and landslides. These hazards can cause significant damage to lives, property, and infrastructure, and can disrupt the livelihoods of millions of people.

The Union Disaster Management Committee (UDMC) is a critical institution for disaster risk management at the local level. The UDMC is responsible for developing and implementing disaster preparedness and response plans, and for coordinating relief and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of a disaster.

This training module is designed to provide UDMC members with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively carry out their disaster management responsibilities.
