Please read the following paragraph carefully to answer the three questions below. The Ecosystems Restoration and Resilient Development in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (ERRD-CHT) Project aims to bring transformative changes in four connected areas. These changes will improve the ability of local people to cope with environmental challenges, enhance development, and strengthen governance structures that directly affect their lives and livelihoods. The project aligns with the Government of Bangladeshā€™s (GoB) long-term plans outlined in the Perspective Plan 2041 and the 8th Five-Year Plan. It focuses on empowering local communities with better access to inclusive economic opportunities, resilient livelihoods, and important ecosystem services. This project also aims to improve local peopleā€™s capacity to manage their environment, ecosystems, habitats, and biodiversity. A key part of the project is getting women, girls, marginalized groups, and youth actively involved in sustainable livelihoods, small businesses, and ecosystem conservation efforts. The project aims to sustain ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and promote resilient development by encouraging skills and entrepreneurship suited to the hill environment and nature. Increased civic participation and better interactions between communities and institutions will help create responsive, participatory, and inclusive governance. This will improve socio-economic conditions and natural resources, increase awareness about conservation, and broaden participatory decision-making processes to include more people. The project will also strengthen the relationship between public services and local communities by enhancing the capacity of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) institutions and leaders to address local priorities effectively. It will contribute to a stronger and more reliable governance framework by ensuring accountability and legitimacy in participatory management and biodiversity conservation. Additionally, the ERRD-CHT Project will support the implementation of the CHT Peace Accord, reinforcing national consensus and aligning with the goals set out in the GoBā€™s 8th Five-Year Plan.
